Listening

Do you know the song “All I want for Christmas is you”? It is from Mariah Carey. You can listening it all the times you want, clicking on the image below, my advise is that you read the song with the empty spots and then listen the song as many times as you need to understand the song, don’t worry if you don’t have all the missing words, but you need to try, you will never know what you can do until you try.

All I want for Christmas is you

I don't want a ___ for Christmas
There is just ___ thing I need
I don't care about the ________
Underneath the Christmas ____

I just want ___ for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is... ___

I don't want a ___ for Christmas
There is just ___ thing I need
I don't care about the ________
Underneath the Christmas ____

I don't need to hang my stocking
There upon the fireplace
Santa Claus won't make me _____
With a ___ on Christmas Day

I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you, baby

I won't ask for ____ this Christmas
I won't even wish for snow
And I'm just going to keep on waiting
Underneath the mistletoe

I won't make a ____ and send it
To the North Pole for Saint "Nick"
I won't even stay awake to
Hear those _____ reindeer clicks

Because I just ____ you here tonight
Holding on to me so tight
What more can I do?
Baby all I want for Christmas is you, baby

All the lights are shining
So brightly everywhere
And the sound of children's laughter fills the air

And everyone is singing
I hear those sleigh bells ringing
Santa, won't you bring me the one I really need?
Won't you please bring my baby to me?

I don't want a ___ for Christmas
This is all I'm asking for
I just want to ___ my baby
Standing right outside my door

I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is... ___

Baby, all I want for Christmas is you...

  1. Hello Carmen! I think you have a very interesting blog. The activity you propose to work on the ability to listen is attractive and fun. Songs as a work tool are very motivating and students learn them quickly. They can offer us new vocabulary and learn it in a meaningful way. In addition, if we use songs known as in this activity, participation and fun are even greater. I like your activity!
